ATTENTION CWA/QWEST EMPLOYEES Here are the new guidelines regarding QDS short-term disability cases:
- QDS must talk to the doctor before denial.
- After denial, (after January 1, 2002), you now have six months to appeal cases. Don’t appeal right away. Exhaust all avenues, then appeal at the end.
- On the 4th day of your absence, please call 1-866-864-2255. Choose Option 1, then Option 2 and speak with a consultant. Even if you return to work before benefits, this effort is to start the process as early as possible with QDS. This does not alleviate QWEST's responsibility to report as well.
