      2017 CWA Local 7777 Election

    Nominated and elected at-large for Local 7777 Officers and Convention Delegates  will be President, Executive Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, two (2) Private Sector Vice Presidents and one (1) Public Sector Vice President. (The number of Convention Delegates is determined by the Executive Board)

    Executive Board Officers will be nominated by contract entity and elected at-large, three (3) from CenturyLink and one (1) from each remaining entity.

    All elections are for three (3) year terms - December 15, 2017 to December 14, 2020.

    Candidates for all Local offices were asked to submit a questionnaire, limited to 75 words on background and qualifications, and 30 words for what they hope to accomplish if elected.  All candidates’ responses are run, as written by the candidate, without editing.  Candidates are listed according to office, in alphabetical order.  CWA Local 7777 website does not endorse any candidate; nothing written in these pages is to be construed as an endorsement either implicit or implied.

    OFFICE OF PRESIDENT

    Name:  Audrey Deguio

    Union Background and Qualifications:

    Serving Local 7777 as President, two terms Exec. VP, Secretary/Tresurer, Area Rep and Steward.  Area Rep and Steward Local 7717 Boulder.  District:  2017 & 2012 elected CTL Bargaining team.  Executive work council, Health and Wellness Advisory Committee, Organizing Committee, 49th Hour Arbitration, GLS Regional grievance, and ADR hearings.  Led organizing campaigns:  ATT/DirecTV techs, First Transit, ATT/DirecTv dispatchers/tech support, and CenturyLink (internal).  20 years designed Services CDT with CenturyLink, USNR, DCO.

    Hope to accomplish if elected:

    Represent our members fairly and justly.  Provide officers, Area Reps, stewards and members with resources, training and leadership to increase Union Density.  Keep good union jobs and good union benefits.

    Union Background and Qualifications:

    I have been a strong Union advocate and activist for over 20 years.  I possess effective leadership skills, experience, and knowledge as represented by two consecutive terms as Vice President of CWA Local 7777, preceded by 15 years as an active Area Representative and Steward.  

    Hope to accomplish if elected:

    As President of CWA 7777 I will work diligently to protect jobs and provide security and stability to our members.  To build relationships within and outside of our Local Union.

    Union Background and Qualifications:

    Executive Vice President 2015 – Present,  Vice President 2011 – 2015; Steward/Area Rep since 1996; CWA Leadership School (years 1 & 2); Union Community Activist and Union Counselor Training (Beginner and Advanced Courses); Committee Member/Activist: Community Action, Executive Board, Education, Equity, Legislative, Mobilization, Safety and Health, Women’s; Conflict Resolution/Mediation Courses at Regis University; Dale Carnegie Course; Multiple Tony Mazzocchi Safety Courses; Franklin-Covey: Focus and Seven Habits of Highly Effective People; Various Leadership/Success Workshops.

    Hope to accomplish if elected:

    My goal is to strengthen our solidarity, grow our membership and build alliances with powerful organizations. I will increase activism by motivating our members and restoring pride in our local.

    Name:  Dale Feller

    Union Background and Qualifications:

    My union background consists of over 41 years of CWA experience.  I have served as:  Steward, Area Rep, Vice President, Executive Vice President, President, Director of the CWA District 7 Dislocated Worker Project, 1989 CWA Bargaining Committee (bargained with U S WEST), and Secretary-Treasurer for the last twelve years.  I have completed three CWA Leadership Schools and earned a Labor Relations Certificate and Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
     

    Hope to accomplish if elected:

    Continue to fulfill the duties of Secretary-Treasurer in accordance with our Local By-Laws; be the custodian of all assets, maintain the Local’s records, and keep expenses in line with income.

    OFFICE OF VICE PRESIDENT - PRIVATE SECTOR - By Acclamation

    Name:  John Cataline

    Union Background and Qualifications:

    I have been a union member since 1998 and a steward, area rep and V.P. since 2001.  I am currently the Area Rep for CenturyLink retail AT&T Mobility, Cricket and DirecTV

    I am active on the Safety Committee and legislative Committee fighting to expand the rights of working people.

    I am familiar with and aggressively represent our members in all steps of the grievance process up to and including arbitration.

    Hope to accomplish if elected:

    ·         Increase membership in the local

    ·         Engage member participation in their local

    ·         Aggressive representation for our members in the grievance process

    ·         Secure fair contracts for our members

    Union Background and Qualifications:

    My union background consists of over 20 years of CWA experience.  I have served as vice president, area representative, steward, and many committees.  Have participated in the legislative process to ensure we elect labor friendly candidates.

    Hope to accomplish if elected:

    I will work hard to protect what we have gained over the years and continue to grow the Union in all areas, for the good of all.

    I have 39 years of union membership experience and have served 1 term on the executive board.  I believe with the good leadership and great members we have we can continue to have a great presence in the labor force and grow our locals numbers.

    Maintain our locals number of members, balance our finances and grow our membership.

    QUALIFICATIONS = I have been a Union member for 18 years, an activist for 10 years. I have been a Steward, currently an Area Rep, Finance Committee member, and Co-chair for the Safety committee.


    Hope to accomplish if elected:

    To ensure our member's voices are heard. I also want to help grow & strengthen our membership by ensuring we, as the Union are going forward.

    Raised Union. Grandfather, Teamster Business Manager. Strong member 1980. Area Representative, Steward 1987.Legislative Political Director 2006-2012 (Present). Passed SB11-179 Alternative ID legislation and modified legislation to facilitate the creation of Green Taxi. Continue lobbying against Job costing TELECOM Bills. Denver Area Labor Federation (Executive Board 2008) (President 2012-2014). CWA 2010-2011, AFL-CIO 2013 Leadership Training. Current Executive Board Member continuing to fight for Transparency, comprehensive financial records.

    Modernize Meetings for members engagement. Educate our membership on CWA’S Triangle to Promote a sense of True SOLIDARITY. Battling erosion of the Bargaining Unit. Your Voice on our E-BOARD.

    Union Background and Qualifications:

    I have over 25 years of union experience. I started out as a union steward and then became an area representative. I have participated in many ways at the local, for example I was the co-chair of the education committee, belonged to the death and service committee, and helped out with election committee. I understand how important it is for transparency and ethical behavior for trust to be earned.

    I want to move us into the 21st century by using social media tools and reaching out to all members and educating others the value of the union.
