On Wednesday July 8th, between 11:00 - 11:45 am, we will Caravan around Senator Cory Gardner’s office in protest of Senator Cory Gardner’s decision to go on vacation after failing to take any meaningful action on COVID relief. The #SenateFAIL action in Denver is part of a national #SenateFail Day of Action and is just one of a number of protests, campaigns, or actions planned in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
On July 2nd, the Senate headed home for recess despite having done nothing to respond to the escalating public health and economic crises spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic, fund essential services to provide relief to communities and workers, or effectively address systemic racial injustice. Now, COVID-19 cases are reaching new heights around the country, healthcare systems are becoming overtaxed and working people are facing even greater economic uncertainty as more states halt re-openings. The Senate’s refusal to act and take a vacation in the midst of a crisis is a clear failure of leadership — and working people across the country are taking action to hold their senators accountable.
